Favorite Albums of 2009
Might as well knock this out while I’m waiting for a directory to download.
Kid Cudi’s “Man on the Moon”
Again, this is surprising, given how little respect I have for the entire hip-hop genre. At all.
Passion Pit’s “Manners”
This album is so good that I downloaded it one morning and went out and bought it the same day. It’s great.
Allison Weiss’ “…Was Right Along”
It’s great. Once you get past Weiss’ I’m-doing-it-all-by-myself caricature and just enjoy her music, you’ll be a very happy camper.
Metric’s “Fantasies”
Metric rarely disappoints. Top notch record.
Kelly Clarkson’s “All I Ever Wanted”
Say what you will. The album is great. I don’t care that you know that I know that.
There were some singles this year that I’m not sure count enough to go on any list. Things like Arcade Fire’s “Wake Up” WTWTA trailer remix and a few Pomplamoose covers.
Some honorable mentions:
The new Most Serene Republic album was pretty good, but not so amazing that I’ve had it on excessive loop.
