I’ve become obsessed with Gowalla.

Gowalla is one of the handful of location-based “games” that are basically collecting games, using the world around you as the backdrop.

Gowalla is cool because it let’s you create spots that don’t exist yet, take credit for creating and/or founding the spot, and let’s you pick up, swap, drop, and collect items.

The items thing is cool. It’s gotten to the point where I am checking in all over the place in hopes of grabbing more items.

Think geocaching, but without the danger and the vest and with virtual items.
