What developers see is that the App Store is a shaky foundation upon which to build a business. One day you’re prospering, the next day your app is gone. There are awesome iPhone OS apps that aren’t being built because developers don’t trust Apple not to yank the carpet out from underneath them.

I’d have to disagree. I’m not a developer so I don’t claim to know the exact atmosphere of iPhone development. My argument is this: The apps removed from the store were on shaky ground from the beginning, with the exception of a handful of apps like Google Voice and the tethering thing that was removed.

For the most part, it appears that the apps being removed shouldn’t have been made in the first place. I mean… really, how long did it take to build the handful of softcore porn photo viewer apps? The baby-shaking app literally responds to shaking over a period of time.

So that being said, I find it incredibly hard to imagine that there’s some developer sitting on an amazing, must-have app that is just thinking to himself “Apple’s going to remove this before I see a return on my investment of time and work.”

Unless that developer happened to have built a hooker-finder app over the weekend while watching the Lord of the Rings extended trilogy.
