What the heck is ‘SpenderBot’, anyway?
SpenderBot is my first iPhone app. I decided I wanted to make something I needed and that I would use so I’m making the finance tracking app that I’ve been looking for for over a year.
The app will tie to a web-based service I’ve been working on to allow over-the-air syncing to an upcoming web service and desktop app.
Basically, you log your transactions as you go, and as you spend, it makes note of your spending habits to help you try and cut down on frivolous things like daily trips to the coffee shop or seemingly-cheap iPhone apps. Things that really add up over a month that your brain doesn’t think about all the time.
This is a tool I need mostly for myself, bit after talking to friends about it, I’m going to name it and release it and now that I’m unemployed, I’m going to finally sit down and build it.
SpenderBot has an official blog and everything, but it’s not ready yet, so for the time being, I’ll be talking about it on my site, here.
Stay tuned as I will likely add notes and screenshots as I go.
Right now, my goal is to have a basic version working by the end of the week and get this in to testers hands by mid-April.
